Classic Chevrolet Impala 1958-1967 Chevy Impalas

"Chevrolet Impala" The Chevy Impala is one of those great old Classic cars that every muscle car and classic car fan would love to own.I've been an Impala lover ever since I can remember. I've bought and sold more Impalas than I can remember.

Chevy Impala SS Super Sport Hardtop and Convertables are loved by Classic Car Fans around the World. If you're interested in Pontiac GTO, you can visit my GTO Hub.

I have included several Chevrolet Impala pictures for your viewing pleasure. Some of them are of Chevy Impalas I have already sold, and some are still for sale.

I hope you enjoy the Impala website. Please feel free to leave comments, I would love to discuss Classic cars with you. I have a lot of knowledge, not only about the Classic Chevrolet Impala, but just about any old Classic, Muscle Car, Street Rod and Hot Rod.

I'm a Classic Car Fan and you have probably met me at California Car Shows. If you would like to buy a Classic Car, or you are looking for a Classic Car for sale, I have connections through my Ebay Motors site and my hundreds of Classic Car friends. I look for (and find), sellers of Classic, One of a Kind, Vintage and Rare vehicles

Most of my business is ran as a "word of mouth" or "referral" . Quality and value are a priority. My reputation has been built around my total honesty and details in the descriptions of the vehicles I offer. This is verified by a simple check of my eBay feedback.

I have located and sold hundreds of classic and vintage vehicles, not only in the United States, but as far away as Denmark, the UK, Australia and Norway.

You can have a look at some of the beautiful pieces we are offering at any time. Simply click on one of the Ebay Motors ads on this Hub and you will be taken to my Ebay Motors site. I usually have many more Classics Cars available than the link below shows.

My Ebay Motors auctions run high quality classic cars and trucks almost continuously. If you don't see something you are looking for, we encourage you to contact us and let us know what you are looking for (SEND US A WISHLIST).

I'm a Muscle Car Fan, and I love helping others find that old Muscle Car, so go ahead and contact me and we can talk.

What You Should Look For When You Buy Old Classic Cars

  1. Check out all the wiring and make sure everything works.
  2. Ask for all parts and labor receipts. This is a record that will show the care by the old cars owner.
  3. Have the engine and transmission been rebuilt?
  4. Is the mileage on the odometer original?
  5. Are the engine and transmission original, numbers matching? Check the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on the chasis and make sure it matches the # on the engine. If it does not, the value drops way down.
  6. Check for rust and bondo, run a soft magnet over the car to check for bondo.
  7. Check for frame damage and alignment issues.
  8. Research parts and labor prices, replacement parts for old cars can be very expensive.
  9. Is the paint original?
  10. Research the seller. This is really important especially if you are buying the classic car from an individual instead of on Ebay where you can check their reputation. Do this by searching their name in the search engines. See if their name comes up in any car clubs etc. If so,are they in good standing and have recent activity.
  11. Make a list of questions for the seller before you contact them.
  12. Ask for plenty of pictures.
  13. Ask for a copy of the registration.
  14. Never buy a car without seeing it first, if possible.
  15. Use a classic car inspection service. You can usually find one for $150 to $300.
  16. For more valuable classic cars, always use an escrow service. This way no money changes hands until the deal is complete. This is also a form of insurance, if the old car is not as stated by the seller, you may be able get your money back.
  17. Check the history of the vehicle out at carfax.com, you'll find out important info. like;
  • Number of previous owners.
  • Where the vehicle is registered.
  • Are there any liens on the vehicle.
  • Is it reported as stolen?
  • If it has been in an accident.
  • If it has flood damage.

18. Ask the seller if they have ever filed an auto insurance claim. If they say no, and you learn later it had been in an accident, you could use this information to try and get your money back.

My wife and I were lucky to find a totally original 65 SS Impala Convertible about two years ago in Salt Lake and we bought and drove it home across the US. Most enjoyable trip we have ever made. It is white with red interior ,, engine is immaculate,,runs and drives like a dream. Oh and no big ol wheels. It has the original SS hubcaps.

Hello Jake,

That's a common problem with the LT1 Optispark. From what I have learned most of the replacement units are garbage. The following is a link to an impala ss forum where they discuss this very issue, hope it helps.

I own a 96 impala ss. Sweet car in mint condition but I've been having a problem with the distributor cracking. I've replaced it twice already and need to replace it again. Why does this keep happening and how can I prevent it?

My immaculate '65 Impala SS was one of the favorite possessions of my 60 year life, being raised in a mechanic shop allowed me to do the mechanical work myself! It's the kind of car you wish you had kept forever!

Hello Girly, I also love the old cars in their original state, however, there are multitudes of car lovers who like to customize their cars to better fit their personality and vision. Different strokes for different folks is probably the only right way to look at it.

Girly 2 years ago

I love looking at old Chevy Impala's. But I don't like looking at the big rims. They ruin the looks of any car and they look extremely TACKY. I don't know why people want to put these GAUDY wheels on very beatiful original classic cars. It's not the wat they looked back then and they are not original. They look stupid. I would not pay 1.00 for a car like that. Anyone who thinks it looks good is dimented.

Hello Scott,

Just about any early chevy small block will fit, and with just a few adjustments you could even put one of the early big blocks in.

Hello Jeff,

Just to let you know, after we spoke on the phone I removed your comment that had your telephone number. I'm sure you would have had to change your number if I hadn't. I hope the information I gave you over the phone was helpful. Thanks for stopping by Jeff and I hope your back gets better.

Hello Kyran,

Especially the 67 impalas with the Z24 option package. That was the first year they were badged as "SS427" models. That's also when the domed hood was added. Cool car.......Thanks for stopping by Kyran

Hello issues, thanks for visiting my Chevy Hub. I'm still stuck on the 63, probably because I spent so much time in the back seat of my Moms. LOL

I had a 1958 Impala black two door with a 348CI engine, a 1959 Black Impala Convertible and a 1962 Red Super Sport Impala Convertible and of the three my favorite was the 1959 with the cat eye tailights.

Thanks for visiting my Hub Madison. LOL, been there. Someone took care of that 67 SS, it' getting harder and harder to find any old muscle car in solid form. I had a friend who bought a 67 GTO Rag Top, he payed top dollar because the body was so solid. He had lots of money but not much car knowledge. One day I took a magnet and ran it over the body, surprise, I could hardly find a place where the magnet would stick, Bondo Boy! Have a great day Madison.

One of my biggest regrets was passing up on a '67 SS coupe in solid form around three years back. It was black, a bit dirty, but ran well. $3,700. What a bummer.

Hello Chef Jeff, thanks for stopping by.

The 63 Chevrolet Impala is a fine car. Everyone calls the 63, the "Jet Smooth". With a 327 250 horse power engine, she was a jet for sure. She was even faster if you could afford the optional 409 big-block. My Mother had the 63 Chevy Impala, had we only known, LOL.
